Introduced new UX patterns and interactions to delight stakeholders and customers

Justin augmented the Nick Jr. Branding Team to improve the overall user experience by refreshing interactions and visuals. He used Sketch and After Effects to bring prototypes to life.

Overhaul of Nick Jr. Website + Mobile

What you are looking at is a complete overhaul of the Nick Jr. interaction library.

Every item that is loaded and transitioned was designed and animated by Justin using After Effects. This project was a self-led initiative.

Android Mobile Version

New Grid and Load Sequence

This deliverable was to simplify the Nick Jr. homepage to be more focused on “property first”. Improvements are as follows:

  1. Grid was redesigned to maximize property area

  2. The load sequence was done on a Z-axis to give the feeling of 3-dimensions

  3. On load, Justin suggested using the properti’s primary branded color before loading imagery.

  4. After the color load sequence, an image would populate the card

  5. Finally, the icon would load to allow the user to discern what type of content it is (i.e. video or game)

On air animations

This deliverable was used on live television. At various points in the sequence there are numbers used in a countdown. I had animated the numbers to have a bounce effect.
